Problem is about the cracked version if you r using. Other option is to set the project settings, include libraries properly.

yes I have another PIC 18F4550 showing the same problem. USB port's D+ & D- has direct connection with chip's D+ & D- and I check continuity of both paths (D-,D+) that is ok.

I also flash the pickit2 hex file which is also designed for 20 MHz crystal and it gives me the same error "device not recognized". I am unable to detect the problem. If the problem was about the crystal setting then it will not occur in PICKit2 hex file, because that well performing hex is running ...

Yes I activate it now after peter tell me, but the problem still exist as it is. Is that a hardware problem, like capacitor of some specific value.

yes I enable the voltage regulator, it still show the same error " device not recognized ".
