Re: RTOS Taking the bull by the horns

I've done the work of porting FreeRTOS to run with the mikroC Pro for PIC32. I'm running It now with PIC32MX devices, and will make a port for PIC32MZ device later. I am testing the port and fine tuning stack usage during context switching. I plan to share my work with FreeRTOS.org. warrendev, That...

Hi,

I'm just curious if you tried the USB HID, power saving, SPI,... can you tell us your experience?

Best regards,
Peter
I have not tried USB, PS or SPI. So far tweaking the RTOS & I2C.

Re: PIC32MZ Why no support yet ?

Then your going to be waiting a LONG, LONG time. every uP has an eratta sheet. There is not one uP ever produced that dose not have a problem. I think if MPLAB support it, it must be well enough to move forward with it. MC would not release it on their compiler if it was that unstable.

Re: PIC32MZ Why no support yet ?

Yes it is. I have been using MPLAB X IDE for it so far. I do not see why we have to wait for them to make their own kit. They can buy one from MC like i did. It's sad for me because I bought the compiler and cannot use it. Nor does it have any way to make use of an RTOS. Yet the free one from microc...

Re: PIC32MZ Why no support yet ?

I've had a dev kit sitting here for 3 weeks.
Bought it straight from microchip.

PIC32MZ Why no support yet ?

How much longer must i wait for you to get your microC PRO to be compatible for the PIC32MZ ? The new PIC32MZ has been out for a while now. I own microC PRO, yet i cannot use it. You need to be faster with updates. Stop spending so much time making modules, and put more of your resources into the fo...

RTOS Taking the bull by the horns

It dumbfounds me that a large part of the community is not up in arms that ME has not come out with a RTOS yet. It been over 5 years now that I have asked the ME come out with a RTOS, or even something that resembles the ability to have multiple threads. I cannot believe they still do not have a sol...

GLCD Font Creator v1.2.0.0 output format help

I am trying to figure out the output format. Is this explained somewhere. The following is for Fixedsys8x14 font. For instance, For the empty block (the first char) is given as this: 0x05, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, // Code for cha...

Re: What is the final word on MK adding an RTOS?

Let's bet that even you can't make it sooner. That response was very rude. If ME's compiler was more like traditional compilers then it would literally take about 30 minutes to get FreeRTOS to work with it. Being the way its made there is no economical way to get it in there to work. IMHO, ME's com...

Re: What is the final word on MK adding an RTOS?

Thank you for the answer. Seriously though, this is one thing that should be at the top of your list to do. If a guy has the following he is using. Color TFT LCD with touch, SD, Ethernet, temp sensors, external buttons. it would be absurd to code this with straight line code rather than to use an RT...
