XDP™ OTP Production Burner for SMPS is a specialized tool for programming Infineon's XDP™ Switching Mode Power Supply ICs (SMPS) from DP2A and DP2B families. The device is designed for two types of users: experts (engineers who conduct the initial configuration) and operators (production line employees who carry out the programming). The programming process varies depending on the type of target device. For DP2B-based ICs it consists of three distinct operations that can be performed on target devices:
- 1. Firmware programming
- 2. Patching
- 3. Partial or full set parameter configuration
For DP2A-based devices, it is only possible to update a full set of parameters.
Having four separate channels, the XDP™ OTP Burner can be used to program up to four SMPS ICs at once (enabling a single production line employee to program a large volume of target devices efficiently).
The XDP™ OTP Burner programs target devices from configuration files stored in its internal Flash memory, or external storage (MicroSD card). These configuration files (that can contain a firmware update, patch or parameter set) are prepared with a dedicated PC application.
Once the configuration files have been prepared, the XDP™ OTP Burner can be used as a standalone device.
Infineon's line of XDP™ Switching Mode Power Supply ICs represent the first all-in-one package solution that integrates a digital power controller with key peripherals. They enable higher energy efficiency, shorter development cycles, lower cost, and more flexibility. For more information, see the page about XDP™ on Infineon's website.
