WiFi 2 Click is a compact add-on board that provides a low-power WiFi solution to a host MCU. This board features the HLK-M30, a WiFi module with a built-in TCP/IP protocol stack from Hi-Link. This fully integrated module uses the IEEE802.11b/g/n standard in the 2.4-2.5GHz ISM frequency band that can work both in Station and Soft Access Point modes. In addition, the HLK-M30 supports standard security authentication systems (WEP64/WEP128/TKIP/AES, WEP/WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK), as well as multiple network protocols (TCP/UDP/DHCP/DNS). This Click board™ makes the perfect solution for highly integrated and cost-effective applications, industrial wireless control, smart home applications, utility and smart energy, remote device management, and more.
WiFi 2 Click is supported by a mikroSDK compliant library, which includes functions that simplify software development. This Click board™ comes as a fully tested product, ready to be used on a system equipped with the mikroBUS™ socket.

WiFi 2 Click is based on the HLK-M30, a WiFi module with a built-in TCP/IP protocol stack from Hi-Link. This Click board features a PCB trace antenna designed for the 2400-2483.5MHz frequency band. Regarding the built-in protocol stack, it can be set up as a TCP/IP client or server and configured with either a static or dynamic IP address. The HLK-M30 supports Smart connection, transparent transmission mode, wireless roam, and more. Through the HLK-M30 module, the traditional serial devices do not need to change any configuration or user data, as it can be transmitted through the internet network.
To communicate with the host MCU, the WiFi 2 Click uses the UART interface of the mikroBUS™ socket, with commonly used UART RX and TX pins operating at speeds from 1200 up to 115200kbps. The WiFi 2 Click also features an RST pin to reset the HLK-M30 module and a DEF pin, which represents an Exit/Default/Update pin and can be used to reset the module to default factory settings if needed. Also, with a low voltage level on this pin, it is possible to set the module in operation mode with AT commands. The board also features a 4-pin GPIO header (GP0-2) with HLK-M30 user-configurable pins and a module WiFi network status LED indicator (red LED marked with STAT).
This Click board™ can only be operated with a 3.3V logic voltage level. The board must perform appropriate logic voltage level conversion before using MCUs with different logic levels. However, the Click board™ comes equipped with a library containing functions and an example code that can be used as a reference for further development.
