Status:
EVE Click is an adapter add-on board that provides display, audio, and touch control from a single solution. This board features the FT800, an easy-to-use graphic controller from FTDI. It provides an embedded video engine (EVE) with widget support, built-in graphics operations, a graphic controller, audio processing, and a resistive touch controller with touch force sensing. Alongside adjustable vertical/horizontal sync signals, it also comes with a video RGB parallel output with default RGB data of 6-6-6. It supports LCDs in various formats with data-enable support mode. This Click board™ makes the perfect solution for bringing excellent graphics and driving large 4.3” displays targeted in embedded HMI applications.
EVE Click is supported by a mikroSDK compliant library, which includes functions that simplify software development. This Click board™ comes as a fully tested product, ready to be used on a system equipped with the mikroBUS™ socket.

Availability date:
EVE Click is based on the FT800, a graphic, audio, and touch controller from FTDI targeted for embedded applications to generate high-quality Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) through an onboard 40-pin flat cable connector. The embedded video engine can offload the system MCU and provide graphic features with no required frame buffer. As part of EVE, the graphic engine executes the display list once for every horizontal line. It constructs a display line buffer, where horizontal pixel content in the line buffer is updated if the object is visible at the horizontal line. The primitive object supported by the graphic engine are lines, points, rectangles, bitmaps, text, graphs, and many more.
The touch-screen engine, integrated inside the FT800Q, consists of ADC, axis switches, and an ADC input multiplexer that reads commands from the memory map register and generates the required control signals. The ADC data are acquired, processed, and updated in the respective register for the MCU to read. This integrated 4-wire controller incorporates median filtering and touch force sensing capable of recognizing touch tags and movements with notification for up to 250 touch tags.
An integrated audio engine provides mono audio output accessible through an AUDIO two-wires terminal. The engine can output two audio sources, the sound synthesizer and audio file playback, and it generates the sound effects from a small ROM library waves table. In addition, this Click board™ also comes with an LM4864, an audio amplifier from Texas Instruments controlled by the FT800. This bridged audio amplifier can deliver 725mW of continuous average power into an 8Ω load from a 3.3V power supply.
EVE Click uses an SPI serial interface to communicate with the host MCU over the mikroBUS™ socket. In addition, EVE Click uses other pins for configuration and management. MO pin is used for activating the SPI interface by setting this pin to a low logic state. Power down mode can be accessed from the active LOW PDN pin, while the INT pin of the mikroBUS™ socket provides a programmable interrupt feature. The last addition to the board is a user-configurable LED indicator for all types of indications as desired by the user.
This Click board™ can be operated only with a 3.3V logic voltage level. The board must perform appropriate logic voltage level conversion before using MCUs with different logic levels. However, the Click board™ comes equipped with a library containing functions and an example code that can be used, as a reference, for further development.
