Enhance lighting control, engine systems, and industrial PLC applications with the DRV81004-Q1, a high-performance solenoid driver
Solenoid Driver Click is a compact add-on board designed to drive inductive loads such as solenoids and valves in automotive and industrial applications. It is based on the DRV81004-Q1, a four-channel low-side switch from Texas Instruments.
KEY FEATURES:
- Four-Channel Low-Side Switch: Provides four independent N-channel MOSFET outputs for driving inductive loads
- Low ON Resistance: Features 700mΩ ON resistance for efficient power delivery
- High Current Capability: Supports up to 470mA per output when all channels are active
- Wide External Supply Voltage: Operates from a broad 3V to 40V external power supply
- SPI Communication with Daisy-Chain Support: Enables flexible control and expansion
- PWM Control: Allows for pulse-width modulation control via input pins for precise load management
- Input Mapping Function: Provides flexible control over output channels
- Integrated Protection: Includes overcurrent and overtemperature protection
- Diagnostic Features: Offers open-load diagnostics for fault detection
- Energy Clamp Circuits: Manages energy dissipation during inductive load switching
APPLICATIONS:
- Controls various actuators in vehicle zone control systems
- Drives solenoids and valves in automotive body control modules (BCM)
- Controls solenoids in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
- Manages solenoid-driven lighting mechanisms
- Controls solenoids in engine management applications
- Integrates into Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for industrial automation
- Any automotive or industrial application requiring reliable and protected driving of inductive loads

ABOUT CLICK BOARDS™
Click boards™ follow a modular prototyping add-on board standard invented by MIKROE, which revolutionizes the way users add new functionalities to development boards. Click boards™ enable design engineers to change peripherals easily, cutting months off development time. To enable hundreds of Click board to be connected to the microcontroller or microprocessor, we have invented the socket standard - mikroBUS™. This uniform connection interface allows you to connect any Click board to a main board instantly. The company releases a new Click board nearly every day at 10am, and many leading microcontroller companies including Microchip, NXP, Infineon, Dialog, STM, Analog Devices, Renesas, and Toshiba now include the mikroBUS™ socket on their development boards.
ABOUT MIKROE
MIKROE is committed to changing the embedded electronics industry through the use of time-saving industry-standard hardware and software solutions. With unique concepts like Remote Access, One New Product/Day, Multi-Architectural IDE and most recently, the EmbeddedWiki™ platform with more than million ready-for-use projects, MIKROE combines its dev boards, compilers, smart displays, programmers/debuggers and 1800+ Click peripheral boards to dramatically cut development time. mikroBUS™; mikroSDK™; SiBRAIN™ and DISCON™ are open standards and mikroBUS only has been adopted by over 100 leading microcontroller companies and integrated on their development boards.
