From now on we will publicly share a roadmap of our upcoming software releases. The information will be hosted on the docs page. Bookmark it for reference (or reach it from the Main page of docs.mikroe.com).
The goal of maintaining a roadmap is twofold. We want to make the release process predictable so that license owners can know what to expect. Goal number two is to enable people to comment and discuss our plans earlier in the development cycle.
To begin with, you will be able to see the next two releases in the pipeline. For the one that's scheduled first, we will reveal all the planned new features and fixes. A rough ETA (estimated time of arrival) will also be provided.
As an example, the next set of compilers scheduled for updating are mikroC, mikroBasic and mikroPascal for dsPIC/PI24. Go to the Roadmap page and you will see an exhaustive list of what's new. To tell us what you think, go to our forums and find the global topic for discussing the software roadmap.
The roadmap page only slightly pulls open the curtain of our software department. We will see how things develop, with the intention of further developing this concept into a more detailed and precise timeline.
On a related note, we also started a poll on our forums were you can vote from a list for top 3 most desired compiler upgrades.
We will be expecting your feedback.
