Get to know the successor of PRO Compilers -
NECTO Studio!
Rise of PRO Compilers. Twenty years ago, MIKROE released its first PRO compiler, MikroPascal for PIC, accompanied by an integrated development environment (IDE). Its success led to the creation of more compilers: mikroC, mikroBasic, and mikroPascal for various microcontroller families including PIC, dsPIC, PIC32, 8051, FT90x, AVR and ARM, making up, in total, a whopping 21 compilers. The community's engagement was pivotal. Their contributions improved both the command line and IDE, adding libraries, examples, and additional tools that enriched our compilers. Massive codebase MIKROE developed throughout this years, alongside extensive documentation, continuously improved based on community's feedback. This effort resulted in a diverse range of libraries and examples we had to offer to embedded industry.
Discontinuation of PRO Compilers. As technology advanced, supporting 21 compilers became increasingly challenging. Having state of the art editor and multiple compilers under the same IDE was paramount, which led to creation of NECTO Studio. This has, inevitably, put PRO IDE (and compilers) on a phase out course. We are committed to assisting users in transitioning to NECTO Studio by providing clear migration guidelines. This transition, though gradual, will enable us to create a superior product and establish a unified platform that delivers the best experience for embedded software developers and end-users alike - NECTO Studio.
NECTO - THE HUB FOR THE EMBEDDED INDUSTRY
We are in a golden age of technology, with embedded software developers leveraging a wide array of tools to enhance project development. Recognizing this, we launched NECTO Studio four years ago to support fast prototyping and the creation of embedded projects.
NECTO Studio includes access to cross-platform compatibility with more than ten toolchains available, huge ammount of MCUs to be utilized, SDK-based framework code development with 1500+ ready-to-use code examples, CMake build standard, debugging over WiFi, GUI development with LVGL Graphics Library support, user-friendly configuration of a project, real-time data acquisition Plot feature, Planet Debug - remote hardware access feature, and much more!
WHAT PRODUCTS WILL REACH END OF SUPPORT?
- mikroC PRO for PIC
- mikroC PRO for dsPIC
- mikroC PRO for PIC32
- mikroC PRO for ARM
- mikroC PRO for AVR
- mikroC PRO for FT90x
- mikroC PRO for 8051
With this announcement we are starting the phase-out process that will be done in stages, with conclusion deadline beeing set to end of this year.

MIGRATION STEPS
STEP 1: Gain an insight of the nuanced advantages of NECTO Studio over MikroC PRO set of IDEs.
STEP 2: Kickstart the transition journey by migrating projects from MikroC PRO IDEs to NECTO Studio. NECTO's streamlined project migration wizard is likely to be a revelation.
STEP 3: Delve into the myriad of tangible benefits and features that NECTO Studio IDE brings to the table but are missing in PRO IDEs.
What will happen if You don't migrate?
PRO compilers will no longer receive updates, including MCU additions or modifications to embedded libraries. Support for the IDEs listed above will cease, and PRO-related services will also be phased out. Both standard and premium tech support for PRO compilers will also be discontinued.
Dear valued users,
As the team behind the PRO compilers you’ve trusted for years, we’ve distilled our knowledge, experience, and customer feedback to create NECTO Studio. It’s built on the same foundation of expertise and passion that powered our previous offerings.

ABOUT NECTO
NECTO Studio is a complete, cross-platform integrated development environment (IDE) for embedded applications providing everything necessary to start developing, and prototyping, including Click board applications and GUIs for embedded devices. Rapid software development is easily achieved as developers do not need to consider low-level code, freeing them up to focus on the application code itself. This means that changing the MCU or even the whole platform will not require developers to redevelop their code for the new MCU or platform. They can simply switch to the desired platform, apply the correct board definition file, and the application code will continue to run after a single compiling.
ABOUT MIKROE
MIKROE is committed to changing the embedded electronics industry through the use of time-saving industry-standard hardware and software solutions. With unique concepts like Remote Access, One New Product/Day, Multi-Architectural IDE and most recently, the EmbeddedWiki™ platform with more then million ready-for-use projects, MIKROE combines its dev boards, compilers, smart displays, programmers/debuggers and 1600+ Click peripheral boards to dramatically cut development time. mikroBUS™; mikroSDK™; SiBRAIN™ and DISCON™ are open standards and mikroBUS only has been adopted by over 100 leading microcontroller companies and integrated on their development boards.
