A maintenance update to fix some bugs that slipped through in the recently released 6.6.0 version of PIC compilers.
mikroC, mikroBasic and mikroPascal for PIC have the largest user base of all MikroElektronika compilers. When we release a new version, any deficiencies quickly surface up. What would take weeks to discover with other compilers gets revealed in days with PIC.
While we can't test all possible user scenarios, what we can do is react quickly.
The compiler update takes care of the bug concerning case sensitive system libraries in mikroC.
A shortcut key conflict also crept in all three compilers with version 6.6.0. Ctrl+Ins for adding a project overrode the editor's copy action. In 6.6.1 it's replaced Ctrl+Shift+Ins. Also in 6.6.1, restoring user packages doesn't cause problems with the Library Manager and IDE any more. Double click on binary file now opens them in the external assigned program.
We're looking for ideas on what's the best way to establish an early warning system (beta? GIT repo?) that would prevent these quirks from occurring again.
The main discussion is on the forum but if you're in a hurry leave your thoughts in the form below.
You are the driver, we are the crew. In other words, we do the wind tunnel testing but you're the one who experience the vehicle on real roads with hairpin bends, wet asphalt and what not.
Yours sincerely,
