11 days of Kickstarter left for Hexiwear. New stretch goals for the final stage.
These new stretch goals are based on results of the survey we ran back when we reached our initial funding goal. Many people asked us to add a certain hardware functionality, like GPS, or GSM, or NFC. And while some of those requests were more popular than others, none had the critical mass to justify changing the original hardware design (which would have increased the price of the Hexiwear unit).
Instead, we decided to make a single mikroBUS™ expander that will allow you to add a click board™ with that one sensor or transceiver that you wanted on Hexiwear, but still keep it compact and deployable in the field.
This expander board would therefore have a single mikroBUS™ socket and a battery supply to power the additional click boards. The Hexiwear unit would also be able to use those batteries as a power source (to supplement the internal battery).
The image shown here is a preliminary mockup to give you an idea of what to expect. We will start working on the Hexiwear click board™ expander once we reach $42,500. Afterwards, the board would be sold separately.
Moving on farther, we will add support for Kinetis in mikroC, mikroBasic and mikroPascal for ARM. This would allow many users to work with Hexiwear in a familiar development environment.
Obviously, mikroC support in Kinetis will have broader benefits because it can be used with many other Kinetis boards as well.
We will start working on Kinetis support in mikroC, mikroBasic and mikroPascal for ARM when we reach $50,000.
So, let's see how much you can do in 11 days. Help us spread the word about the campaign, about the potential new products that will stem from it, and let's see what happens.
As already mentioned, none of these stretch goal enhancements will impact the core product whose delivery date is still on track.
Thanks for the support so far. Let's see how far we can go.
Yours sincerely,
MikroElektronika
