Planet Debug (Remote Board Farm)
This time we are introducing one of its biggest workflow upgrades yet, combining speed, intelligence, and automation:
- A new setup caching engine eliminates repetitive rebuilds by storing ready-to-use compiled setups. This allows NECTO to connect to Planet Debug (Remote Board Farm) systems in seconds, delivering a substantial performance boost, especially on slower PCs or in high-frequency debugging workflows.
- Cross-system setup reuse: setups that share the same board, MCU, and compiler configuration are automatically matched and reused across different Planet Debug (Remote Board Farm) systems.
- Automatic cache lifecycle management: unused cached setups older than 30 days are cleaned up to keep storage usage efficient.
- Real-time detection of missing or changed packages: the system monitors package integrity and triggers only the rebuild steps that are actually required.
The result: a measurably faster and smoother Planet Debug (Remote Board Farm) experience.
Visual Code Generator
The Visual Code Generator continues to evolve with new capabilities and broader hardware coverage, making it easier to generate output for various display types in sensor-integrated applications. This update brings:
- LCD 2×16 display selection is now available directly from the Output panel, ensuring that the generated code precisely targets that display.
- The underlying AI model has been significantly refined, enabling it to produce code that is almost production-ready right out of the box. In internal testing, the automatically generated code achieves over 99% accuracy, producing correct initialization sequences, rendering routines, and data-update logic with successful compilation and MCU flashing, without requiring manual user intervention.

User Statistics
The user statistics module has been notably refined to provide a smoother, more intuitive experience, with faster interactions and clearer visual feedback.
Key improvements include:
- New zooming options, including pinch-zoom on macOS
- Legend-based toggling of chart elements
- Automatic rotation of X-axis labels
- Full horizontal panning support
- Refreshed UI styling and more readable tooltips
- Improved PDF export engine
- Smarter zoom behavior with cursor-based panning
These enhancements make exploring data more natural and efficient, especially when working with larger time ranges or high-density datasets.
Package Manager
The Package Manager receives several refinements that improve navigation, search reliability, and overall usability:
- Updated mikroSDK GitHub button and tooltip
- More robust search, even with special characters
- Corrected parent category display
CUSTOMER FEEDBACK
NECTO Core
- Eliminated crashes in NECTO Core during shutdown
- Fixed Setup Wizard initialization crash
- Improved file logging behavior when write permissions are unavailable
- Safer STOP handling in Planet Debug (dangling pointer fix)
- More accurate CMake error reporting
- Resolved Windows-specific crash related to window geometry
Project Management
- Fixed crash when holding the Build shortcut
- Improved threading and pointer safety
Planet Debug
- Fixed timeout-related crash when connecting to a board
Debugger
- Fixed a crash in NECTO that occurred when clicking Restart Session, and while it was still restarting, clicking Add Breakpoint. The crash was caused by stale references to the debug session
NECTO Installer
- Corrected packaging of sioclient on Windows
Version control
- Fixed crash when updating actions and there is no open repository.
