Our sweep through compilers in preparation for the upcoming new version of VisualTFT continues. Today's live update is for ARM compilers. Three down, three to go.
The live update brings mikroC, mikroBasic and mikroPascal for ARM to version 4.5.2. It's their first update since FT90x compilers were launched this spring, so the list of enhancements is rather long.
Take Wild cards in code completion and routine lists. A novelty when introduced, this particular feature is on its way to becoming a staple of all compilers. Here's how it works:
Then, a more recent innovation: Instead of scrolling back through your code, you can add local variables by identifier with CTRL+SHIFT+V. Like so:
Synchronized editing is the latest of these new conveniences. Change a variable name in one place, and the changes will be automatically applied throughout the code.
In addition to those, you get hint on function and the ability to drag and drop functions into the editor; you can now rename files directly from the project manager, and new files are automatically added to projects.
And of course, perhaps most importantly, a couple of new libraries are planted there, lying dormant, waiting for that new release of VisualTFT.
Yours sincerely,
