Measure surface temperature without physical contact with the object using the ZTP-148SRC1
IR Sense 5 Click is a compact add-on board for precise surface temperature measurement without physical contact. Based on the ZTP-148SRC1, a thermopile IR sensor from Amphenol, it is ideal for human thermometry, appliances, occupancy detection, HVAC, and automotive applications.
KEY FEATURES:
- Non-contact temperature measurement: Measure surface temperature remotely, making it perfect for sensitive applications or situations where hygiene is crucial.
- Wide measurement range: Covers a temperature range from -20°C to +100°C.
- Active area: The 0.7x0.7mm² active area allows for focused temperature measurement on smaller targets.
- Field of View (FoV): The 85-degree typical field of view defines the area the sensor can detect infrared radiation from.
- Signal amplification: The OpAmp ensures accurate temperature readings by amplifying the weak signal from the thermopile sensor.
- Analog-to-Digital Conversion (ADC): The ADC converts the amplified voltage signal into a digital format for processing by the microcontroller.
- Output offset selection: Provides options for adjusting the output offset voltage, potentially improving measurement accuracy in specific scenarios.
- Test points: Integrated test points allowing signal monitoring for troubleshooting or advanced use cases.
APPLICATIONS:
- Enable contactless temperature measurement for applications like fever detection in healthcare or building access control systems.
- Integrates into smart home appliances for precise temperature control.
- Can be used in occupancy sensors to detect presence based on changes in infrared radiation without requiring motion.
- Provide data for efficient control of HVAC heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems based on measured room temperature.
- Applicable in various automotive applications like engine temperature monitoring or object detection for safety systems.

ABOUT CLICK BOARDS™
Click boards™ follow a modular prototyping add-on board standard invented by MIKROE, which revolutionizes the way users add new functionalities to development boards. Click boards™ enable design engineers to change peripherals easily, cutting months off development time. To enable hundreds of Click boards to be connected to the microcontroller or microprocessor, we have invented socket standard - mikroBUS™. This uniform connection interface allows you to connect any Click boards to a main board instantly. The company releases a new Click boards nearly every day at 10am, and many leading microcontroller companies including Microchip, NXP, Infineon, Dialog, STM, Analog Devices, Renesas and Toshiba now include the mikroBUS™ socket on their development boards.
ABOUT MIKROE
MIKROE is committed to changing the embedded electronics industry through the use of time-saving industry-standard hardware and software solutions. With unique concepts like Remote Access, One New Product/Day, Multi-Architectural IDE and most recently, the EmbeddedWiki™ platform with more then million ready-for-use projects, MIKROE combines its dev boards, compilers, smart displays, programmers/debuggers and 1600+ Click peripheral boards to dramatically cut development time. mikroBUS™; mikroSDK™; SiBRAIN™ and DISCON™ are open standards and mikroBUS only has been adopted by over 100 leading microcontroller companies and integrated on their development boards.
