Just days after Creator Ci40 was successfully funded, another Kickstarter project related to us appeared. Our friends from FTDI chip launched Nero - an energy efficient Arduino Uno Compatible design.
Nero is an Arduino UNO compatible board with a 16MHz ATMega328 MCU with Optiboot Bootloader. The concept of the design is based on FTDI's FT231X USB UART chip, making Nero capable of delivering 5V at full 1A without overheating. The board also conforms to FCC/CE, so it's suitable for use in commercial applications. All that for under $20, or if you're an early bird backer, just about $15.
It's a prototype that FTDI engineers built for themselves, but were so satisfied with the results that they decided to share it with the world.
Relation to us? If the community shares the enthusiasm and the project gets funded, it will be produced in our facilities.
Read more details and show your support for Nero on its Kickstarter page. It's already half-way funded, with 24 more days to go.
Yours sincerely,
