6LoWPAN C click is a compact add-on board that adds an IPv6 over low-power wireless personal area networks to your application. This board features the CC2520, a 2.4GHz IEEE802.15.4/Zigbee RF transceiver from Texas Instruments. Over a chip antenna, with 2394 up to 2507MHz frequency range and appropriate balun, this transceiver can achieve a data rate of up to 250Kbps. The transceiver has an excellent link budget of 103dB and can achieve communication of up to 400 meters of line-of-sight range. This Click board™ makes the perfect solution for the development of industrial monitoring and control systems, home and building automation, automatic meter readings, low-power wireless sensor networks, and more.
6LoWPAN C click is supported by a mikroSDK compliant library, which includes functions that simplify software development. This Click board™ comes as a fully tested product, ready to be used on a system equipped with the mikroBUS™ socket.

6LoPWAN C Click is based on the CC2520, a 2.4GHz IEEE802.15.4/Zigbee RF transceiver from Texas Instruments. The CC2520 features a direct conversion transceiver that operates at a 2.4GHz band, with excellent receiver sensitivity and robustness to interferers. Its RAM module contains memory for receiving and transmitting FIFOs and temporary storage data. The data processing unit (DPU) is responsible for the execution of the more advanced instructions, which includes AES-128 security. The FSM submodule controls the RF transceiver state, the transmitter and receiver FIFOs, and most dynamically controlled analog signals, such as power up/down of analog modules. The CC2520 also includes a modulator, demodulator, PA amplifier, LNA amplifier, and more.
In addition, the CC2520 provides extensive hardware support for frame handling, data buffering, burst transmissions, data encryption, data authentication, clear channel assessment, link quality indication, and frame timing information. The antenna is intended for use with all 2.4 GHz applications. It uses a ground plane to radiate efficiently, but it must not extend underneath the antenna itself.
6LoWPAN C Click uses a standard 4-Wire SPI serial interface to communicate with the host MCU, with a clock supporting up to 8MHz frequencies. The transceiver can be reset over the RST pin and enabled over the VEN pin. There are two user-configurable pins, GP0 and GP1. The GP0 can also provide a clock to a microcontroller, as after reset, this pin will output a 1MHz clock signal with a 50/50 duty cycle. The FIFO signal has a default output on GP1.
This Click board™ can be operated only with a 3.3V logic voltage level. The board must perform appropriate logic voltage level conversion before using MCUs with different logic levels. However, the Click board™ comes equipped with a library containing functions and an example code that can be used as a reference for further development.
