Status:
3D Motion Click is a compact add-on board providing a fully integrated inertial measurement solution. This board features Microchip’s MM7150, a 9-axis sensor fusion motion module. The MM7150 is a complete self-contained solution comprising a 3-axis accelerometer, a gyroscope, a magnetometer, and an SSC7150 motion coprocessor. The motion coprocessor has sensor fusion algorithms that take raw data from individual sensors and filter, compensate, and combine them for the host MCU through a compatible I2C interface. This Click board™ is suitable for many motions and 3D positioning data applications.
3D Motion Click is supported by a mikroSDK compliant library, which includes functions that simplify software development. This Click board™ comes as a fully tested product, ready to be used on a system equipped with the mikroBUS™ socket.

3D Motion Click is based on the MM7150, a motion module providing 9-axis sensor fusion that includes a 3-axis accelerometer, a 3-axis gyroscope, and a 3-axis magnetometer from Microchip. The MM7150 is a simple, cost-effective solution for integrating motion and positioning data into a wide range of applications, including the SSC7150 high-performance 32-bit motion coprocessor with integrated Bosch BMC150 3-axis Geomagnetic Sensor/Accelerometer and Bosch BMG160 3-axis Gyroscope. It supports fast in-use background calibration of all sensors (user calibration is not required), calibration monitor, and gyroscope drift cancellation alongside magnetic immunity features that provide enhanced magnetic distortion detection and suppression.
3D Motion Click communicates with MCU using the standard I2C 2-Wire interface to easily tap into the motion and position data, supporting Fast Mode up to 400kHz. Besides, the MM7150 also possesses an additional interrupt alert signal, routed on the INT pin of the mikroBUS™ socket, used to tell the host MCU that data from the motion module is ready to be sent out, general reset function routed on the RST pin of the mikroBUS™ socket, and Module Wake-Up signal, labeled as WKU and routed to the AN pin of the mikroBUS™ socket, to wake motion module from a Sleep state.
This Click board™ can be operated only with a 3.3V logic voltage level. The board must perform appropriate logic voltage level conversion before using MCUs with different logic levels. However, the Click board™ comes equipped with a library containing functions and an example code that can be used as a reference for further development.
