“Interface between data terminal equipment and data communications equipment using serial binary data exchange.” Sounds familiar? It probably does since it is the definition of the RS232 standard.
According to this definition data terminal equipment (DTE) is the computer and data communications equipment (DCE) is the modem. Even though it was originally developed for connecting teletypewriters and modes, today is used for serial communication between a wide range of different data acquisition devices and computer systems.
RS232 2 click
In order to use RS232 communication standard on the modern MCUs, you need to change the voltage levels.
