As you already might have seen in our ads in Elektor, Nuts and Volts, and other related magazines, we have started the development of ARM compilers. After already having 15 compilers, we are building three more. We are crazy, we know, but we can't help ourselves :) And this is a huge thing for us. Our software Team is working heaviliy on creating new mikroC, mikroBasic and mikroPascal compilers that will support ARM Cortex M0, M3, M4 cores in microcontrollers from several manufacturers.
Here's a brief summary of what has been done so far:
- First rough version of command line has been completed, including optimizer, code generator and linker
- Rough version of IDE was also completed
- Currently, our team is working on developing software simulator
- Next step will be complete test of the compiler, followed by writing and testing libraries.
We are expecting the compilers to be completed and up on the market by the end of December 2011, and so far everything is going right on schedule. We will be posting occasionally on the progress of development, and will be interacting with the community in the process of further development. You will get a chance to influence the path of development of your new compilers.
Yours sincerely,
mikroElektronika
