Our current range of more than 95 click boards can be combined in more than four thousand different pairs—we bet there's a few incredible, ground-breaking ideas hidden somewhere in there. So we built clicker 2 for STM32 to be your vehicle of discovery: it packs two adjacent mikroBUS™ sockets and a powerful ARM® Cortex®-M4 MCU.
Set off on an exploratory mission to find new design ideas. Combine various sensors, displays, motor drivers or communication click boards, blend different functionalities together and come up with new and original gadgets.
clicker 2 carries an STM32F407VGT6 that operates at up to 168MHz, has 1MB of flash and 192+4KB of SRAM. Like the original clicker, the MCU has a USB-HID bootloader built-in, making it easy to program (JTAG connector for mikroProg also on there).
Once you upload your firmware, you can rename your click board-equipped clicker 2 because now it can stand on its own as a fully functional gadget: it has an ON/OFF switch, reset button, and maybe most importantly, a li-polymer battery connector.
You can charge that battery (sold separately) over the onboard USB mini-B port. A LTC®3586-2 power management IC enables that. You can set up the same chip to draw an independent power supply to the MCU's RTC even when you push the reset button, or toggle the ON/OFF switch.
If you really want to turn your invention in a marketable product you'll probably build some sort of casing. This is why we provided pins for connecting your own external ON/OFF switch so you wouldn't need to waste time figuring out how to incorporate the one already there.
Now, in addition to mikroBUS™ sockets, the edges of clicker 2 for STM32 are also lined with 2x26 connection pads just in case your design requires some additional components. It's the same pinout like on mikromedia boards; clicker 2 also has the mikromedia pocket-size form factor.
