EnOcean is the world leader in energy harvesting wireless technologies. We teamed up with them to bring you EnOcean click, a board carrying their TCM 310 transceiver module compatible with a range of self-powered battery-free sensors and actuators.
A tiny amount of energy
Hundred thousand mirrors in the middle of the desert focusing sun rays towards boilers. Landscapes filled with wind turbines whose menacing blades look like something out of “War of the Worlds”.
Those are your energy harvesting monsters, feeding on big pervasive forces of nature.
On the other end of the scale there’s the EnOcean platform, preying on miniscule amounts of energy to transmit wireless signals between devices, removing batteries and wires from your everyday life.
EnOcean: "no batteries. no wires. no limits."
EnOcean click, with the TCM 310 module, is a two-way gateway for communicating with EnOcean’s 868 MHz radio systems. It’s intended to be paired with EnOcean’s self-powered energy harvesting modules – miniaturized energy converters that use motion, light, or temperature differences to generate a wireless signal for communicating with the receiver on the other end.
So you would have a self-powered, battery-free switch that could switch on a light on the other end of the room – the force from your finger pressing the switch gives it enough energy to generate the signal.
See how it works in this video:

Upcoming Let's Make projects
You can see the variety of modules compatible with EnOcean click on the official site. We have some exciting Let’s Make projects with EnOcean click coming up, so you’ll be able to buy some of those modules together with EnOcean click.
Very exciting tech indeed. See the details on the product page. The Libstock example is also up. And watch out for those Let’s Make projects coming up.
Yours sincerely,
