New compiler framework

Hi
Given that there are so many development platforms available and so many MCUs etc., this is my suggestion :
Why not have a common IDE framework for Pascal, C and Basic platforms with each MCU (like PIC, AVR, ARM etc) available as plugins. If you create an open source plugin SDK, then the online developer community would help extend the compiler with plugins supporting other platforms, SOICs and MCUs.
This would
a) help speed up support for all the dev platforms out there
b) make your compiler usable to a wider community.
c) Ease the burden of creating a new compiler for every MCU out there.
Hope we can see this happening soon.
