hello,


i added a connect shield board to the clicker2 (terminals)
so does it means that i can use an external power supply of 5V 1A
connected to the first right upper terminal noted 5V ( wich could be the repere "Vsys" ?
(zero to ground) to power on both card ,
instead of USB + battery..
could you confirm or not ?

info from clicker2 document :

Some click boards need more current than the USB connection can supply.
For 3.3V clicks, the upper limit is 750 mA; for 5V clicks,it’s 500 mA.
In those cases you would need to use the battery as the power supply,
or the vsys pin on the side of the board.

The answer is yes.

You can use VSYS pin (5V) on the side of the board for extra powering your board and more stable work of the Clicker 2.

Thanks for this clear answer.

On my Cliker2 PIC18F87J50 (+ GSM2-Click on Mikrobus #1)
i connected +5V external supply to the terminal +5V Vsys (and 0V)
(the 2 terminals next to RA2 terminal)
with an Ampmeter to record the consumption (in mA).



it it just to inform futur user of GSM2-click .. and share experience.

Nota: i know that maximum value of spike must be higher than recorded value,
because low band width of my multimeter recorder ...

My power supply is a linear power supply ( more 40 years old)
Transfo 230V/9V AC -> Diode bridge -> 2200µF
LM309K regulator 5V output with 100µF//100nF -> 5V 1A maxi..

USB not connected, Battery not connected
and the corresponding debug display with events
