P18F6680 configuration bits - problem

#1 Post by max_sm » 12 Jun 2011 15:55

Hi ! I have made a small test example in mikroC ver.4.8 Pro Demo - EasyPIC6. The program would compile, but could not be loaded to the chip. I don’t have so much experience to program the configuration bits. Can anyone help me with this?

Thank for your replies!

Best regards!
Max

Hi,

What do you mean by "but could not be loaded to the chip" ?
Are there any errors during the programming ?

Please, describe your problem in more details.

Regards,
Filip.

Hi,

Please, download the latest mikroProg Suite and drivers from the following location and try to program the board :
http://www.mikroe.com/eng/downloads/get ... c_v110.zip
http://www.mikroe.com/eng/downloads/get ... s_v200.zip

Also, try using some other USB ports and cables, preferably ones at the back of the case. Be sure that no device is connected to the same HUB.
If you can, apply some external power supply.

If this doesn't work, please attach here the detailed photo of the board.

Regards,
Filip.

Hello again!
I had already installed the latest software v1.10. I have tested with three different
USB ports, plus two separate external voltage supply - 12V for EasyPic6 and
5V for P18F6680, and it was the same result.
P18F4550 (left in photo) was programmed successfully.
Why is not "MCU information" in microProg Suite ( P18F6680 )?
How can I set the config. bits?
Or there is a bug ...

Thank you very much for your reply, Philip!

Hi,

Judging on the information you gave me, I suspect that there is some kind of connection issue on your custom board.
How did you program these custom board ? Have you connected it to the programming pins of the EasyPIC6 ?

Regards,
Filip.

Hello Filip!

Here is my configuration:

Communication is OK - micro progSuite show MC Type & Revision.
Vpp = 12.5V, Vcc = 4.99V,
Data - 0 Error
IDs - 0 Error

What’s wrong?

Hi,

Please, understand that this kind of custom connection is not really authorized by mikroElektronika.
It can lead to unpredictable results and errors, as the one that you are experienced.

This kind of modification exceeds our support scope so I am really unable to help you.

Thank you for the understanding.

Regards,
Filip.
