MikroMedia 5 for PIC32MZ Not visible in Codegrip

Hello!

I am a new user of the Mikromedia5 for PIC32MZ Capacative board (https://www.mikroe.com/mikromedia-5-for ... capacitive).

My board did not come with a switch installed on SW1. There are indents on SW1's pads, so I think the switch may have broken off in manufacturing or transit. As a workaround, I have shorted SW1 to the ON position.

I have connected the board's USB C port to a SS USB port on my laptop. The board's PWD led turns green and the "Mikroe Color Selector" application appears on the screen.

As well, when I plug the board into my laptop, windows plays the "device plugged in" sound. Sometimes when I plug the board in, windows says it is initializing a USB device, and then tells me that the HID Bootloader is ready to use.

However, when I scan for devices in CODEGRIP, no devices show up. Further, scanning in CODEGRIP causes Windows to play the "USB device disconnecting" sound.

My Fusion for PIC32 V8 board shows up in CODEGRIP, no problems.

Relevant software & versions:

Board: Mikromedia5 for PIC32MZ Capactive
OS: Windows 10
Codegrip Suite: 1.6.3 (latest)

Any advice is much appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi,

The main thing is that Mikromedia 5 for PIC32MZ Capacitive doesn't have the Codegrip programmer onboard.
That's why we have loaded a bootloader in it,
so you can program it without a programmer device.

Here is the user manual:
https://cdn.mikroe.com/img/8th-generati ... 7-2021.pdf

And you can download the bootloader software from this link:
https://www.mikroe.com/mikrobootloader

If you have an external Codegrip device,
or any other programmer device, then you can program and debug the chip with the corresponding software (Codegrip Suite for Codegrip).

Kind regards,
Tanja
