MPLABX IDE and CODEGRIP plugin on Windows

I cannot get the CODEGRIP Debugger probe to work with MPLABX IDE on a windows 10 machine.
CODEGRIP Suite ver 1.5.1
CODEGRIP Hardware Version 1.02
CODEGRIP Firmware Version 1.5.0
Error:
Connecting to CODEGRIP probe...
MPLAB X was unable to determine version of installed CODEGRIP Suite.
Please reinstall CODEGRIP Suite from:
http://www.mikroe.com/setup/codegrip

I downgraded CODEGRIP Suite to verion 1.4.0 and still have the same problem. The reason I did the downgrade is because the plugin's user manual webpage (
https://docs.mikroe.com/codegrip-plugin ... er-manual/ -> Revision History ) says it was "Synchronized with CODEGRIP Suite v1.4.0"
What debug probes do you recommend using with the Fusion v8 for PIC32 dev board? I'm looking for something that works with something other than NECTO

Same issue here with MPLAB X v6.05 and CODEGRIP v1.6.3. @filip is there a fix or a workaround ?
