Cant get visual GLCD to work

#1 Post by antonadc » 19 Apr 2015 01:38

Any help would be appreciated
I am running win 7 x64 with visual glcd v2.7 and micro pro for pic v 6.5.0

When I try to build a project from scratch and fill in mcu 4620 speed 20mhz t6963 and 240x128 or128x 64 screen when I press enter it shows me ks108 why is this so? And you cannot change it. OK after reinstalling visual glcd a few times I can choose the controller I want.

Sometimes When I press the wheel to compile nothing happens. I have to exit the program and restart.

Also When I click on the touchscreen not to be used it still comes up in the driver file with todo
It still adds the code for the touch screen.

When I do get to compile the code it shows nothing on the screen. I know my hardware is correct as I wrote a program in picbasic pro and all works great.
I have added a project please check if it compiles ok on your hardware.

Thanks

Anton

Hi Anton,

This behavior related to Touchpanel definitions is noticed earlier, and our developers working on it.

Also I tried to compile your code, and i wasn't able to reproduce the same problem.
I was able to get picture on GLCD after compiling code.

Darko

Thank you for quick response. Glad to hear that it compiles on your hardware. What hardware are you using. I will try another board asap. What is the problem with the compile button that when you press it nothing happens.

I am also getting the behaviour that when I choose a new project and start filling in the parameters and when I choose ta3969 and go to the next screen to fill in the connections it is for the ks 108 and when I go back to previous screen the controller is ks108 and you cant change it. starting over just does the same. When can we expect an upgrade please.

Thanks

Anton

I have been working non stop since this afternoon to build another setup. Blew 2 x ks108 due to wrong datasheets but had another 6963 display. Put it on a breadboard and hooked it up to a 128x64 display. Put a few buttons on the screen and bang all works great. Will have to find out why it wont work with the 240x128. I have a suspicion it could be a timing issue.

I still have a problem with the compile button. If you click on it to compile it does nothing. You have to exit the program and restart the program. Sometimes after 3 or 4 times you cannot load the program. You have to reboot windows and start again. I have had windows report that the exe has not shut down.

Thanks

Hi Anton,

Unfortunately I am unable to reproduce the same problem.

Can you please tell me did you have the same problem on other computer related to compile button?
Also can you tell me when you noticed this behavior?
Did you always have same problem or lately?

I phoned our local supplier dizzy and he tried the program and did not get the same result. I am now thinking it could be windows. I am going to reload windows and see if it is not that. will keep you updated.

Thanks

I have reformatted my drive and re_installed windows. I have win7 64bit oem and reinstalled it up to the screen driver. I have a gtx 650. and motherboard drivers. Re loaded tft glcd and still does the same. When I select all parameters for t6963 and press save then it will change to ks108 and you cant change it. I am not upgrading to win 8 for the sake of this problem.

Thanks

Thank you for your quick response. I have had it since the first installation. Yesterday I installed win8.1 on my machine with all new drivers and it did the same. I will make a small video and attach it today.

The main problem I am having is that when you choose c6963 and save it it will jump to ks108 even if you choose 6963 the next panel it will show ks108 connections.

And when you save it will go to ks108.

Yes I have a packard bell laptop with win7 home basic and it does the same.

It seems that video is not attached.
Can you please attach video on dropbox or something similar and paste me the link here,
so I can be able to represent the problem to colleagues from Software Department.

Hi Anton,

In moment of release of Visual GLCD 2.5. there was support for 240x64, 240x128 and 128x128 resolutions for T6963 display.
In version 2.7. is added support for 128x64, 320x240 and 640x240.
