Speed of dsPIC30/33 and PIC24?

I am considering the dsPIC30/33 or PIC24 for a VGA display project.
I have used the PIC18 series for several years.
The PIC18's do one instruction per four tic's of their 40 MHz clock.
Are the dsPIC30/33 and PIC24's likewise?

I need to do an incrementing 16 bit counter at ports to step the data
from a 10 ns SRAM to display on a VGA display.

Can any of the dsPIC30/33 and PIC24's step a counter at 25 MHz for the
VGA display or are logic and or FPGA the route?

hi,
any 40 mips will do the job but if you want some power left to do something else may i suggest to go with a P32 ? P32 are more adapted for video and still have enough power to do a lots of different thing in same time...

hth a bit :-)
