I have recently purchased the UNI-DS6 Development System, which I thought was just the job.
mikroBoard for PIC 40-pin with PIC18F4520 changeable device
mikroBoard for PIC 80-pin with PIC18F8520 fixed device
mikroBoard for dsPIC with dsPIC30F6014A fixed device

I fitted a Zif socket to the mikroBoard for PIC 40-pin, and fitted a 18F46K22 device

I get this message - Selected MCU not supported on your development tool
From USB show devices = USB 18F Firmware v1.21 -PICFLASH prog
I see the PICFLASH prog is obsolete, so I need to safely add a ICSP header to the small proto board so I can program by a standalone programmer any ideas no achieving this?

On development boards of 6th generation family 18FxxKxx isn't supported.

Thanks for your reply that doesn't really help me.

Your still selling this board, I purchased mine from http://www.digikey.co.uk about a month ago with lots more of your gear.

Your sales info.
All mikroBoards have integrated programmers.
mikroBoard for PIC 40-pin User Manual [Coming Soon!] so didn't know it had the obsolete programmer and the software was mikroProg Suite™ for PIC so it gave a false impression.
I'm not bothered about this if I can get a ICSP header fitted to the mikroBoard for PIC 40-pin I'll be happy.

B.T.W. I have ordered a mikroProg for PIC, dsPIC, PIC32

For now I programmed the 18F46K22 device by other means and fitted back in the board but this is not ideal.

Sorry if the information on website were not sufficiently clear.
6th generation support family 16F and 18F with 5V supply.
Only in its seventh generation, we have introduced 18FxxKxx.

Looking into this further the uni-ds6 board is suitable, I need to make my own mikroBoard with a 3.3V regulator with 3.3V - 5v selector, I also would add a socket for changeable Osc with matching caps and an ICSP header.

Hi only the MCLR line is unavailable on the board pins, look at the board (previous generation with 16F887) schematic here

VCC, VSS, RB6 & 7 are easyly accessible
For MCLR you an use something like that directly on MCU pin 1 without removing the chip from the board

I use mini32 on mikroBoard for PIC 40-pin on UNIDS6 with easyTFT display

Btw I don't know why ME announce "coming soon" since more than one year, may be two .
