TFT Proto 5 - useless viewing angle is it just mine ?

I recently got my hands on tft proto 5, which i wanted to use in a project.

The problem is, that the view angle is really, really bad. Colors are quite ok, when I stare in the lcd directly, but moving several centimeters away, the colors just fade away. The problem is the same, when looking from 10 cm, or a meter or more. One needs to be in 100% direct line, or the image is unreadable.

the images are upside down, as the iphone is stupid, sorry for that.

this one is made a couple of centimeters away. It is exactly the same display (just without the blue stripe), so the color should be GREEN, YELLOW, RED

I've never seen such a bad display, EVER. So I am wondering if I could have connected it wrong (using the easymxpro for stm32, with the original example), or the piece I got is faulty, or is it that all the tft proto 5 are the same, and are really bad. This makes no sense, as the easytft which came with the devboard was quite ok, and the proto 5 seriously does not come that cheap.

any thoughts ?
