What is mikroXMEGA?

mikroXMEGA Board is a complete solution for fast and simple development of embedded applications using new Atmel® ATxmega128A1 device connected to 8Mhz oscillator.

Bootloader

Board comes with bootloader, so it can be program over USB-UART connection.

Programming and debugging

It also features connectors for external programmer and JTAG, thus enabling in-circuit debugging and firmware programming.

Connectivity

Every pin of the on-board device can be connected with external circuits using connection pads.

Operating voltage

Board is designed to use 3.3V power supply only. Be careful to use voltage translators on communication lines when connecting it to 5V systems.

Easy-to-use examples provided with this board will show and explain the ATxmega128A1 operation. Each example contains a detailed description of the relevant program including comments.

How do I use the bootloader?

Download bootloader firmware

1. Connect with MCU

Reset the board and and click on ‘Connect With MCU’ within 5s timeframe to force the chip into bootloader mode.

2. Load your HEX

Click on ’Browse for HEX’ button and find the desired HEX file you want to program your mikroXMEGA board with.

3. Start bootloading

Click on ‘Begin Uploading’ button to start the process. After uploading is completed, reset the chip to start your new program.
