Overview
Serial 7-Seg Display 2 Board is provided with 7-segment displays.
The board includes LED display drivers MAX7219 connected to 8 common-cathode LED displays.
IDC10 connectors enable easy connection with peripheral modules.
Description
The Serial 7-Seg Display 2 Board features serial input/output common-cathode display drivers MAX7219 used to interface microcontrollers to 7-segment numeric LED displays via SPI interface. The chip includes a BCD code-B decoder, multiplex scan circuitry, segment and digit drivers and 8x8 static RAM for storing digits. Display drivers are connected to 8 common-cathode LED displays.

Examples provided with this board will show you how to connect MAX7219 to a microcontroller easily. Each example contains a detailed description of the relevant program including comments. All these examples can be downloaded from this page as well.
- Demonstration of how to display a static number on eight 7-segment displays.
- Example of displaying numbers (0000, 0001, 0002 .. 9999) on eight 7-segment displays. Each digit is on for 1 second.
- Example of reading data from USART and writing results on eight 7-segment displays.
