Overview
SmartGSM-GPRS Development Board will help you understand GSM & GPRS technologies. The intuitive design of SmartGSM/GPRS guides students and experienced engineers through the process of learning how to combine these two technologies in order to develop cutting-edge products and applications.
What's On-Board
Antenna Holder enables antenna to be easily mounted on the board.
Audio Amplifier is used to amplify low-power audio signals from GSM/GPRS module for speaker output.
Audio Interface 1 is used to connect GSM module audio interface with your microphone and speaker.
Audio Interface 2 is used to connect GSM audio interface with on-board microphone and speaker.
Backup Capacitor is used for power supply backup of GSM module settings.
On-board microphone is used for voice input.
There are two configuration buttons used to switch the system on/off.
Power supply circuit enables stable power supply. Power supply switch turns the system on/off.
SIM Card Holder is used for placing SIM cards.
RS-232 communication with a PC or a microcontroller is performed via DB9 connector.
Timepulse LED is used to show the current status of GSM/GPRS module.
Speaker is used for testing GSM/GPRS voice applications.
SmartGSM/GPRS supports 5 different GSM modules: TELIT (GM862-GPS, GM862-QUAD-PY and GM862-QUAD), Simcom (SIM340Z) and Siemens (MC55).
IDC10 headers are connected to GSM module pins. There are also IDC10 headers used to connect GSM modules to various types of microcontrollers.
Antenna can be placed on the board for better signal quality. It is the important factor for the operation of GSM devices.
