LvPICFlash with mikroICD support is a programmer and in-circuit debugger for the Microchip's dsPIC33/PIC24 flash microcontroller family.

The programmer board is specifically designed for In-Circuit Serial Programming (ICSP). There are marks on programmer which describes connections to the microcontroller, operation modes, and some other useful notes.
When connected to a device or a development system, it becomes IN-SYSTEM programmer.
When plugged in ZIF socket, it becomes a standard programmer. You can order optional ZIF socket, used only for high volume production.
One of the possibilities for connecting LvPICFlash to a microcontroller is via an IDC10 connector. Look at the below picture. All you have to do is to put one 2x5 connector between microcontroller and other parts of the board. Inserting LvPICFlash connector you will be able to program dsPIC33/PIC24 In System.

LV 24-33-Programmer: The microcontroller is connected to the LV 24-33 programmer via 5 lines, two of which are +3.3V and GND. Unlike programmers whose operation is based on bootloads, LV 24-33 programs the microcontroller externally so that the entire memory is available for the program. ICSP mode is a special programming protocol that allows you to read and write to PIC24F/24H/dsPIC33F device family memory. The ICSP interface is a 2-wire serial protocol implemented using the PGC and PGD pins. The PGC pin is used as a clock input pin and the clock source must be provided by the programmer. The PGD pin is used for sending command data to and receiving response data from the programming executive.

Alternatively, you can use the lvPICflash programmer from the command line. It will allow you to use lvPICflash from some other software, compiler etc. Here are the command line parameters:
- -w Write to dsPIC33/PIC24
- -v Verify
- -r Read from dsPIC33/PIC24
- -e Erase dsPIC33/PIC24
- -p dsPIC33/PIC24 name (for example PIC24FJ96GA010, dsPIC33FJ128GP710...)
- -f Filename (use " as delimiters)
- -b Check if dsPIC33/PIC24 flash is blank
- -Q Terminate after programming
- -Uon Force Code protection
- -Uoff Force Code unprotect
lvpicflash.exe -w -pPIC24FJ96GA010 -v -f"C:\somefile.hex"This will program the PIC24 using C:\somefile.hex and it will verify the write.
lvpicflash.exe -r -pPIC24FJ96GA010.This will read the PIC24 contents into on screen buffer.
lvpicflash.exe -e -pPIC24FJ96GA010This will erase the PIC24.
