USB 2.0 In-System programmer for Philips ARM Flash MCU.

Our latest ARMFlash programmer is driven and powered from a single USB port on your computer. No additional AC power adapter is needed. The programmer is recognized by Windows, which simplifies driver installation. The programmer board is specifically designed for In-Circuit Serial Programming (ICSP). There are marks on programmer which describes connections to the microcontroller, operation modes, and some other useful notes.

The application software will run on various operating systems including Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, and XP. The software is simple and intuitive to use.

When connected to a device or a development system, it becomes IN-SYSTEM programmer.

When plugged in ZIF socket, it becomes a standard programmer. You can order optional ZIF socket, used only for high volume production.

One of the possibilities for connecting ARMFlash to a microcontroller is via an IDC10 connector. Look at the picture on the right side. All you have to do is to put one 2x5 connector between microcontroller and other parts of the board. Inserting ARMFlash connector you will be able to program ARM In System.

USB 2.0 on-board programmer - ARMprog: You will get the USB programmer which doesn't use boot loader or any similar way of programming. The whole ARM memory and all pins are available to you. Aside from that, you will have state-of-the-art fast USB ARM InSystem programmer for your future projects.
Our latest ARMprog Programmer is driven and powered from a single USB port on your computer. No additional AC power adapter is needed. The programmer is recognized by Windows, which simplifies driver installation. The programmer board is specifically designed for In-Circuit Serial Programming (ICSP).

The ICSP interface is a 3-wire serial protocol implemented using the MCU pins. The first MCU pin is used as a data input pin. The second pin is used for sending data from the programming executive. The third line is used for entering MCU into the programming mode. Connection to the computer is made via the universal serial port, so ARMFlash programmer can work on all computers with USB 2.0 support.

Keyboard Shortcuts

New version of software includes a number of shortcuts which facilitate programming:

  • Alt-E Erase
  • Alt-B Blank check
  • Alt-W Write
  • Alt-V Verify
  • Alt-R Read
  • Alt-D Change MCU
  • Ctrl-S Save
  • Ctrl-O Open (Load)

Command Line

Alternatively, you can use the ARMflash programmer from the command line. It will allow you to use ARMflash from some other software, compiler etc. Here are the command line parameters:

  • -w Write to ARM
  • -v Verify
  • -r Read from ARM
  • -e Erase ARM
  • -p ARM name (for example LPC2148, LPC2214...)
  • -f Filename (use " as delimiters)
  • -b Check if ARM flash is blank
  • -Q Terminate after programming
  • -Uon Force Code protection
  • -Uoff Force Code unprotect
Examples:

armflash.exe -w -pLPC2148 -v -f"C:\somefile.hex"
This will program the ARM using C:\somefile.hex and it will verify the write.
armflash.exe -r -pLPC2148.
This will read the ARM contents into on screen buffer.
armflash.exe -e -pLPC2148
This will erase the ARM.

Drawings for all dev.system parts are simple and clear.
