Free Online Book: “Digital Filter Design”
The purpose of this book is to provide you with different theorethical and practical approaches to digital filter design. The book covers design of both finite and infinite impulse response filters. In addition, it applies the most popular and most commonly used design methodes giving the best solutions. Intuitive explanations and numerous examples contained in this book will help you to devolope your understanding of these methods and test your knowledge on concrete issues.

Table of Contents
Chapter 1 gives a review of the basic concepts related to digital filters, discusses similarities and differences between particular types of filters, their implementation and possible problems that may arise in filter design process.
Chapter 2 introduces various design methods for finite impulse response filters (so called FIR filters). A few different types of FIR filters are described in this chapter thus enabling you to design digital filters with different specifications.
Chapter 3 provides various design methods for infinite impulse response filters (so called IIR filters). It also describes a few different types of IIR filters and examines their most important properties, thus making it easy for you to decide which type of digital IIR filter is best to use.
All examples provided in this book are tested in the Filter Designer Tool program. Also, frequency responses represented are obtained in the same program. This will make you feel confident about the importance and accuracy of information provided here.
